Breath is the most essential of all functions. You can survive weeks or months without food, days without water, but only moments without breath. Life is defined by breath: our first inhale at birth to our final exhale at the end of life. In between, we take somewhere around 22,000 breaths a day. How many of those are conscious?
During this week’s retreat, we will ally with the exceptionally clean and pure air in Montezuma, Costa Rica (in one of the world’s five Blue Zones) to dive into our breath, the process of breathing, and the breath’s role in nervous system self-regulation.
Breath will be the focus of this week, with daily pranayama and meditation guidance, yoga classes focused on breath, and an optional (but highly encouraged) Transformational Breathwork program of daily breathwork and energy healing sessions.
