Pamela is a 500hr certified Yoga Teacher who never thought she would have anything to do with yoga!
Pamela loved dance and movement as a child and youth. She was always active in gymnastics, dance and horseback riding. Eventually her love of activity, the outdoors and fitness drove her to pursue a career in the wellness industry. Through specialized courses in the U.S and Canada, Pamela studied human anatomy thoroughly, ensuring that she provided the best possible care for her one on one clients. She became an educator, teaching a specialized cadaver anatomy dissection program to help educate fitness and wellness professionals on the intricacies of the human body. She lectured and publicly spoke to many large corporations and groups all over Canada and the U.S
During her studies and her 20 year career as a strength trainer for many pro athletes and post operative patients, Pamela became a published fitness model and competed in bodybuilding competitions. After achieving many accolades as a bodybuilder and fitness model things began to break down in her life.
After 5 years of competing and modeling, eating, body image struggles and an inability to manage stress… she became keenly aware that many of her clients were also experiencing high levels of stress due to being very disconnected from their needs. Yoga revealed itself to Pamela as more than just another fitness class full of weird poses – but as a way to repair and reconnect with her body and soul.
Pamela remembers saying many times that she “just wasn’t that into yoga”, but yoga found her.
She immersed herself in the philosophies and lifestyle to help her understand her body, connect with her soul and calm her mind. Pamela’s path toward yoga, meditation and mindfulness began with some resistance and she deeply resonates with anyone who might be reluctant to try yoga.
Pamela studied the nervous system extensively in order to better understand the body’s stress responses. This led her to creating a specialized movement program, becoming a certified yoga and meditation facilitator and guide people toward a loving relationship with self and the world we live in.
She now teaches yoga and hosts retreats full time in Canada, Costa Rica and the U.S. Pamela has a deep love for horses and many of her retreats, classes and workshops that the presence of horses, including her own beloved horse, Honeycomb.
Pamela is committed to helping everyone she works with connect the mind, body and spirit. Expressive movement is an important part of Pamela’s practice and she loves to share the gift of reconnecting to free movementand nature deep heart felt yogic experiences.
