Leslie Lutsch
GUEST TEACHER BIO
Leslie Lutsch lives in the highest city in Colorado right in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. She is in love with the mountains. Born a midwestern girl accustomed to the cold, she fell in love with a place that offered the seasons and also is a haven for outdoor junkies. She skis every winter, working at a small town ski resort, and in the summer she works at a river rafting company… nature truly rules her world.
Leslie began seriously studying yoga 10 years ago where she first travelled on her journey to Anamaya to learn from her amazing teacher, Banyan Gallagher, the ancient practice and art of yoga. Through this experience her heart opened and in her “regular” life she noticed her ability to be more mindful, aware, and compassionate and this in turn helped her build up to the current state of peace she experiences in her life, which she knows with yoga is and will remain ever expanding. She is also still very curious to learn more, she maintains her drive as a student in this rabbit hole of yogic knowledge.
After almost one decade of visiting the retreat center at Anamaya for at least 1 month each year as a student, Leslie is honored to return and host her very own retreat. In 2014 she attended her first 200 YTT at Anamaya, it was life-changing, a pivotal moment in her life, in her own personal evolution, and in her journey as a human being. Shortly after that she followed her amazing teacher to Indonesia where she attended her 300 YTT, and of course she needed more so she soon went to India for her 500 YTT. Ironically, she did not stop there, she continued on to teach at Anamaya with her same teacher for 3 years as his teaching assistant for his 200 hour YTT intensives, she say’s “ It has all been life-changing to say the very very very least.”
For 10 years Leslie has been teaching yoga and seriously practicing yoga; from running her own studio, to “slinging” it as a side gig, to virtual COVID friendly yoga, to workshops, donation yoga, even to horse yoga, and really EVERYTHING in between. She really cannot shake this practice and this is why she is so incredibly passionate about it. Yoga holds a space in her life to check in, stand up, hold herself accountable, and move towards her own evolution.
Leslie Loves to enjoy nature, travel, whitewater raft, rock climb, teach and practice yoga, ski, hike, bike, ice climb, you name it!!
She lives by the motto: “Live for the moments that take your breath away” -Deepak Chopra
Leslie’s Teaching Philosophy
Leslie believes that we all have the power to help control our own evolution, she believes that this power lies within our daily disciplines, how our state of mind is maintained, and through the practice of becoming the observer. Leslie believes that manifesting deep rooted, long standing intentions is important work. She believes that in order to move towards what we are destined to do in this life, we must act, we must not sit on the sidelines and wait for something to happen, instead we must act. Through action we move towards our dharma. Leslie’s loves the stories from the Bhagavadgita, she believes that this parallel to life’s struggle as an everyday person is so relevant to each and everyone of our daily struggles in so many similar ways.
Leslie believes that the tradition of yoga, all of its stories, all of its history, all of its magic, its teacher/student lineage, even its transformation to group fitness classes are all very important. She says every single aspect of yoga, the transformation of yoga, are all important to understand and be aware of. Leslie believes this so deeply because she feels she has been on both sides of the token. Leslie has led a seriously disciplined practice for certain years of her life and she has also claimed to have held a loose “barley there” practice for years of her life. Through travelling from extreme to extreme many times, there is a certain moment where the magic is found, the goldy locks temperature is discovered and for a moment she can find a balance between discipline and surrender. This is always the dance, discipline and surrender. Through surrender we enter the present moment, through discipline we train the mind to remain there.
Leslie sees that the “story” of “yoga” has changed so fast in the past 50 years, this ancient practice has sprung into the western society and has changed in many ways. She believes that the philosophy, the spirituality, and the depth of your devotion to whatever you believe in are the main ingredients to really help us grow as human beings and she believes that this code of ethics has really helped her to root herself in something she believes in. Alignment and wellness are also highly integrated into her classes. No doubt about that however Leslie focuses on taking you on a journey where your entire being is fully present and in harmony. Leslie’s classes are very well rounded and serve the purpose to keep you right in the present moment, the only moment that truly matters.
Like the Buddha taught, in order for us all to be free of illusion we must all wake up and in order for everyone to wake up, and stay awake, we all need to work tirelessly to raise the vibration of ourselves and all of these beautiful souls around us, all of the time! This is the mission!
WORKSHOPS
ENERGY TRANSFORMATION & MANIFESTATION WORKSHOP:
(2 x 90 minutes sessions)
Within this series there will be 2 different sessions, these sessions will be scattered throughout the week. We will travel through the depths of our being in this 2 day series, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, we will touch it all. Overall, we will dive deeper and deeper into our energetic body and see what seeds of intention we can plant into our futures.
First, we will move into the chakras, with a body movement class that focuses on how our energy works, what it looks like, and we will learn to build practices to strengthen and heal our chakras. We will then move right into the yoga sutras where we will dive deeper into our minds, how they work, how we can work to quiet the mind, ect. We will learn how to use yogic tools to build discipline in our lives. This will all happen in session 1.
We will then move into our last session, session 2, where we will integrate our work on the chakras, and the sutras, into creating a dream to manifest, also called a sankalpa. We will dig into manifestation with a yoga nidra and sound healing session where we plant the seed of this dream into the depths of our consciousness and learn how to remind ourselves daily to water it.
Through these rituals and routines it will become a little bit easier to take care of ourselves on a regular basis.
We will move through ways to build this depth into our yoga practice in an accessible daily practice that will help energy flow with more ease through your life.
The price is $60 for two 90 minute sessions, and the price is $35 for a drop in.
Session 1 CHAKRAS/SUTRAS MOVEMENT CLASS
Session 2 YOGA NIDRA AND SOUND HEALING RESTORATIVE CLASS
Build Your Own MALA
(90 minutes)
We are all creative beings, yet sometimes within the hustle and bustle of life, we sometimes forget it. This workshop is designed for you if you’re ready to rekindle or strengthen your creative potential. We will all sit down in a big circle, look at beautiful beads and decide which beads we would like to use for our very own mala. There is nothing more magical than a piece of art created by you in a magical place with a beautiful group of people.
This will be a fun 90 minute arts and crafts event! We will talk about Mala’s, what they signify, the significance of the number 108, how to use them for meditation and mantra, and we will then use the malas in a closing ceremony together.
The price is $60 and this includes the material for your mala.
