Every week we have different guest yoga teachers from around the world that come to teach at Anamaya bringing their unique talents and energy. Our retreats run from Saturday to Saturday.

GUEST TEACHER BIO
Lola is a yoga teacher, life coach, personal growth guide, and healer. Her passion and mission is to help each individual heal and grow, which leads to an overall healing and elevation of consciousness on Planet Earth.
Lola’s teaching is a call to meet your edge and sharpen your attention. She asks students to challenge themselves by weaving physical, emotional, and spiritual inquiry into each of her classes and workshops. Lola teaches in a way that encourages students to take the reins of their lives and step into power, intelligence, and grace.
Lola studies Forrest Yoga, Yin Yoga, hatha and vinyasa yoga, Buti Yoga, core integration, and functional movement. Lola is a practicing bodyworker using the modalities of Thai Yoga Massage, Myo-Fascial Meridian Release and Reiki. She has been studying Thai Massage for over 8 years and is a Reiki Master. Some of her interests that often inform her classes include astrology, ceremony, ritual, moon cycles, and animal totems. Lola is also a certified life coach specializing in transformational coaching to remove obstacles, create an inspired vision, and help each person walk their Dharma.
Lola has a deep and abiding interest in breath, mindfulness, and somatics. Lola studies primarily with Ana Forrest, founder of Forrest Yoga, Erica Mather, a Forrest Yoga guardian in New York City and Bizzie Gold, creator of several intuitive movement systems. Lola was raised in the traditional lineage of Sivananda Yoga before moving into vinyasa and more contemporary yoga studies. Lola is a lifelong student and is always learning new techniques, methods, and applications for healing, wellness and vitality.
Lola is an experienced yoga teacher with over 4,500 hours of teaching experience privately, in group classes, and in corporate settings throughout the world. She has coached dozens of people through creative, inspiring transformations.
LOLA’S PERSONAL TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I practice and teach yoga for personal power, healing, self-exploration, and growth. I practice meditation for cleansing of the mind and access to the subconscious and collective field. I practice transformational life coaching as a tool for creating an inspired, directed life aligned with dharma (life purpose). These tools combined create the most powerful healing and personal transformation I have ever encountered, and it is these tools I will share with you during our week together.
I teach Forrest Yoga, a breath-based, mindful approach to vinyasa yoga designed to go deep into cellular tissue thru long-held and challenging pose sequences. Forrest Yoga excels at healing trauma and disconnection, building strength, and nurturing a state of embodiment. I also teach alignment-oriented vinyasa yoga, a practice designed to help students become more aware by finding correct alignment in the yoga poses, which helps prana (vital energy) circulate thru the body-mind. I infuse my yoga teaching with functional movement exercises that build strength and coordination. Challenging ourselves physically is necessary to reclaim vitality and self-confidence. The daily morning practices will be informed by these approaches.
The evening sessions will be a combination of Yin Yoga (a practice of long-held poses designed to target the fascia, or connective tissues, of the body), gentle Hatha yoga, and meditation. The fascia is where we store emotional as well as physical trauma, and true healing must address these deep layers of the body.
This retreat will focus on the chakra system and energetic anatomy. The 7 chakras are energy centers within the body that help us understand and connect to ourselves and our life journey. Each day will be focused on a specific chakra and will inform our yoga and meditation practices.
I am offering optional meditation each morning at 6:45am prior to the morning yoga sessions. These will be lightly guided.
There will be an optional sunrise yoga practice on the last day of the retreat (Saturday) at 5:45am to celebrate and conclude the work we have done together. Pre-registration is required for the final yoga session.
A series of workshops that build upon each other offers an opportunity for further exploration of the chakras.
JOURNEY THROUGH THE CHAKRAS WORKSHOPS
Workshops: $45 each or $75 for both
These two workshops inform each other. They can be taken individually, but their power will be compounded if you take them both.
INTRODUCTION TO THE CHAKRA SYSTEM
This 90-minute workshop is an introduction to the chakra system and energetic anatomy. Learn what each chakra represents, where it is in your body, and how to connect to it for personal healing and growth. Learn about energetic anatomy and how the ancient yogis mapped the movement of prana (vital energy) in the body through the nadis, prana, and chakras. Concludes with a guided meditation through the chakras to experience the energy centers within your own body.
PRANAYAMA AND CHAKRA PROCESS WORKSHOP
This 90-minute workshop focuses on pranayama and chakra process. There are many styles of pranayama within yoga. Each pranayama has different effects and generates different states in the body-mind. We will layer pranayama over an exploration of the 7 chakras and go through “Chakra Process,” a method for accessing wisdom stored in each of our 7 chakras. Come with a life question or decision that you are interested in obtaining greater wisdom on, or simply with an open mind to explore what intelligence is within your chakras, waiting to be discovered.
