Our weekly retreats run all year long, so when you book your stay with us the FIRST STEP is to choose the week that works best with your schedule. Every week we have different guest yoga teachers from around the world that come to teach at Anamaya bringing their unique talents and energy. Our retreats run from Saturday to Saturday.
The price of your retreat starts with your BASE RATE (which includes your accommodations and meals). Excursions, workshops, and other add-ons you choose to customize your week will be added to your final bill at Anamaya.

GUEST TEACHER BIO
Tamara is a Costa Rican Yoga Teacher based in the countryside of Costa Rica by the slopes of the Poas Volcano. She lives by herself at the mountain, in the companion of her dog, cat and some other farm animals. She defines herself as a simple, sensitive and creative woman that loves the simple life and enjoys being surrounded by nature and silence. She spends her time sharing her love and devotion to Yoga with others, painting, drawing and photographing the beautiful small details of life.
She discovered the path of Yoga in 2004 while finishing her college studies, and since then she has been deepening her personal practice and exploring the alternative health lifestyle. Over 15 years ago she discovered her Dharma (mission/service of life) as a Yoga Teacher and started to share it at her home town Alajuela, where she became the pioneer of this discipline. Tamara received several workshops related to Yoga and more than 8 YTT, exploring a variety of styles such as: Ashtanga, Hatha, Anusara, Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra, Aerial and Therapeutic among others.
In addition to Yoga Practice Tamara has also explored alternative therapies such as: Reiki, Thai Yoga Massage, Feldenkrais Somatic Movement and Acupressure. And during the past 2 years has been sharing the practice of meditation, mindfulness and relaxation as a complement of the yoga asanas and breathing techniques.
Tamara’s Teaching Philosophy
Tamara enjoys sharing creative, safe and progressive sequences that explore the movement of the body and prana in a meditative state of mind. Her Yoga style is a combination of Hatha Yoga, Slow Flow and Vinyasa, but she has a lot to share in the Restorative, Yin and Relaxation practices too. Her main focus is to give students a field of self-exploration of their own potential by the asana flow and pranayama practice. She invites students to see within themselves, beyond their limits, in a space of silence, awareness and acceptance. Exploring the body, mind and their emotions during the practice as an opportunity for the evolution of the Spirit.
Curiosity is the reason for starting any type of practice, so it is fundamental to keep it while getting deeper into it. Curiosity and attention will lead us into a state of connection where knowledge can be revealed, and that is the main purpose of Yoga. To be in the present moment is the key for diving within us, her goal is to give a safe space for connection during the yoga practices.
BACK TO BASICS
Within this workshop, we will be exploring the roots of the correct alignment for some asanas (yoga poses) in a way that we can protect our body from injuries and enjoy the benefits of them besides any body condition or level of practice. We will learn the correct use of props in order to make our practice friendly and accessible for everybody.
The aim of the workshop will be to nourish our practice in a deeper way, from the awareness of our own unconscious patterns in the yoga practice and our mind limitations into a new experience.

ACUPRESSURE FOR YOGIS
It is an introduction into the exploration of the subtle energy pathways that travel within us, and how we can use this ancient system of medicine as a holistic view of the body so we can address our common problems related to: stress, working conditions, emotions etc.
Within this workshop, we will learn a personal sequence of yoga and acupressure points techniques in order to deepen your asana practice and unlock blockages of the energy on mind/body/emotions as a tool of personal healing.
The price is $35.
RELAX FULL MOON SESSION
The moon affects earth in several ways and as humans we are connected with the subtle energy that exudes from the interaction of the moon and the earth. In this session we will be exploring how our mind/emotion/body can be influenced by the full moon and learn some deeper relaxation techniques such as: yoga nidra, meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques) in order to balance this powerful energy. This Relax Session is an invitation to release held patterns, experience stillness, and renew or reset our nervous system.
