More About Carole Frey Keefer:
I have been practicing Yoga since 2012. First it was a way to complement a life of running and soccer but it was also a means of learning to slow down, become more present, and discover more joy in the moment. As my interest in yoga grew, I found a strong desire to learn the traditional parts of this beautiful practice and eventually be able to share them, as a teacher, with others.
I completed my 200 hour Hatha / Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Pokara, Nepal in 2014 and my 300 hour Hatha / Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Kerala, India in 2018 both with Rishikul Yogshala.
My current teacher is Johnna Smith whom I practice Ashtanga Yoga (Mysore and Led style) with in Charlotte, NC. I completed a 3 month apprenticeship and assisting program summer of 2018 with Johnna deepening my understanding of the philosophy, postures, and traditions of Ashtanga Yoga. My other main teacher is Rod Stryker (founder of Para Yoga) who I completed a Marma Training with in October 2019. This training allowed me to develop a deep insight of Meditation, Pranayama, Kriyas, and assisting and sequencing energetically. I practice Rod’s Meditations and Yoga Nidra daily. In 2022, I completed a second 200 hour teacher training (with Y2 Yoga in Charlotte, NC) to refine my skills, gain on a new perspective on teaching and to just simply do something for myself and own inner growth.
I am the Founder / Owner of Free Spirited Wanderer LLC where my mission is to hold space for others to be their most authentic self and discover how to live a truly meaningful and fulfilling life. I lead local and international retreats, a variety of workshops and series, private yoga sessions, Yoga Teacher Mentorships, and facilitate women’s lifestyle coaching programs.
As a Yoga Teacher, I am here to help guide my students into whatever it is they need. Although I try to teach my classes in a traditional manner following the 8-limbs and my love for Ashtanga when it comes down to it, this is the student’s healing. I teach breath, alignment, discipline and strength & grace in order to help them fully arrive into the practice but at the same time they are given the freedom to make it their own. I provide a well rounded class that will help one improve their strength, flexibility, awareness, and overall connection of mind, body and soul. You will leave feeling rejuvenated, energized and empowered.
This is my passion, my medicine – I want to share it with everyone. I encourage you to try yoga so you can discover your innate potential, personal power and higher purpose as well as a deeper understanding of your True Self.
