Wild Voices: Morning Writing Sessions

Writing is medicine for the feminine spirit, connecting us to our true selves. In the Wild Voices women’s writing circle, we come together to explore our inner wisdom and honor the natural wild woman within. Each day, we celebrate our life chapters, from girlhood to womanhood, through themed writing sessions inspired by Judy Reeves’ Wild Women, Wild Voices and Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes’ Women Who Run with the Wolves.

Whether you’re a seasoned writer or new to journaling, Wild Voices welcomes all women who wish to write from the heart. Join us for 5 morning sessions featuring grounding meditations, creative journaling prompts, and optional community sharing.

The price for these sessions is $100 (or $222 for all four workshop offerings).

EcoSomatic Remembering: Breathing with the Earth

Living an embodied, connected life requires us to be grounded in the present moment and in deep communication with our environment. Meditation in nature opens our hearts and expands our awareness, reminding each of us that we are inherently woven, like a sacred thread, into a web of rhythms and relationships with the natural world. Time and space for deep listening allows us to feel into our reciprocal relationship with the more than human world and begin to sense the gifts tucked sweetly into our lives, everyday.

This workshop and ecosomatic breathwork journey takes us beyond the self, into an exploration of embodied belonging and interconnectedness with the living world.  It’s an opportunity to engage with our inner landscape, via the healing power of the breath, to experience our bodies as extensions of the Earth. We’ll begin with a casual lecture, talking about science, energetic systems, and the power of self-inquiry. The second part of our workshop will be an experiential  deep dive, a FULL breathwork session, that begins with gentle movement and propping for spaciousness in the body. We’ll then practice a restorative style of breathwork— conscious connected, diaphragmatic breathing—to attune to the wisdom of the Earth/Body continuum.

This workshop is 2.5 hours and the price is $45 (or $222 for all four workshop offerings).

Tapping Into the Creative Wellspring

In the heart of every woman, is a desire to connect with her inner creative landscape. Creativity flows from the feminine and, while we all embody our masculine/feminine energy field differently, establishing balance is essential to our well-being. While we all have moments of deep and beautiful inspiration, it can be a challenge to maintain it in the midst of everyday life. This workshop is a creative kickstart, a holistic reset, and a mindset shift for women, as we discuss the possibility of “living artfully”, as a way of being, and tapping into a never-ending wellspring by doing less, not more. Hint: Learning how to fully embody the feminine energy body and nurturing its attributes of receptivity, rest, and replenishment is the key. We’ll sit in a circle to discuss energy dynamics over warm hibiscus tea, then attune our energy bodies with Angela’s daily meditation for Creating a Resonant Energy Field.  We’ll look at our individual daily habits (and time drains) and map a new framework for our individual daily rhythms~getting crystal clear about how to carve out time each day to tap into our unique creative channels.
This workshop is 3 hourS and the price is $50 (or $222 for all four workshop offerings). **Bring your journal.

Experiencing the Animal Body: Landing, Location, & Coherency for Women

Embodiment is a somatic practice that invites individuals to perceive the body from within and ask “What is it that I’m feeling?” It’s a field that brings one into a profound relationship with the mystery and intelligence of our innermost being. When we’re out of rapport with the wisdom of our body, relying solely on the rational mind to problem-solve and guide us through our everyday lives, we are  less-resourced and disconnected from this source of deep inner knowing.  In this workshop, we’ll explore our over-reliance on the rational mind and the feelings of separateness that occur when the heart, gut, and brain are out of communication. We’ll venture into the sacred vessels of our feminine bodies, with a renewed vision and powerful tools to restore the flow of our energy in a holistic way.  Through a primal, yoga-inspired, movement and breath practice, we’ll create the conditions for flow, presence, and coherence from within our being—grounding into a way of being where we’re more capable of catalyzing a deep and lasting impact in the living systems around us.
This workshop is 2.5 hours and the price is $45 (or $222 for all four workshop offerings).

Are men invited to join this retreat?

While the full retreat experience is geared towards women, men can certainly benefit from participation. This week is an invitation to honor the feminine principles of nature as a quality of being, urging guests to rediscover the beauty of rest, receptivity, and true connection. It will be a sacred pause, a time of deep listening and profound curiosity, away from the fullness of every day living.

This will allow participants to get quiet and reassemble themselves, so they’re better able perceive what the need to live, feeling nourished from the inside out. Angela’s classes provide a powerful container for developing a felt sense of our deepest primal knowing—rooting us in our bodies and expanding our perception for greater clarity and self-trust.

*Angela’s 10 yoga classes are available to all Anamaya retreat attendees. While Wild Voices Sessions is a women-only offering, her other three embodiment-based workshops and excursions are open for both men and women.

Her teaching, born from her 20+ years of extensive work as a women’s holistic wellness educator, is an integrative and feminine approach to well-being. It’s a rich fusion of traditional wisdom that nourishes and fuels wild, whole health with deep rest and self-inquiry.  She has spent decades refining her vision as a trusted , expert-level facilitator. Many of those years, she was living internationally in Costa Rica and traveling the world as a teacher’s teacher, educating others on how to facilitate deep experiences of the body and mind.
