Retreat Details

Our weekly retreats run all year long, so when you book your stay with us the FIRST STEP is to choose the week that works best with your schedule. Every week we have different guest yoga teachers from around the world that come to teach at Anamaya bringing their unique talents and energy. Our retreats run from Saturday to Saturday. 

The price of your retreat starts with your BASE RATE (which includes your accommodations and meals). Excursions, workshops, and other add-ons you choose to customize your week will be added to your final bill at Anamaya.

Colynn Vosburgh E-RYT 500 started her journey in the healthcare field in 2000 while simultaneously also beginning her path in yoga. Moving through the ranks of uncertified Home Support Worker, Care Aide, Licensed Practical Nurse and then Registered Nurse, all within the Emergency Department, she thought she had found her place in the world. After years of service, being overworked and underappreciated, Colynn experienced burnout and decided that being a doctor was likely the answer to it all… She applied to and was accepted to Medical School and coincidentally also did her yoga teacher training. She immediately recognized that Med School was not the answer, but felt locked in due to family support and an incredibly large student loan. Colynn journeyed through it all, starting a yoga business while raising a family, while working as a nurse and becoming a doctor. Little sleep and an incredibly packed schedule, brought her to a place of committing to a path, and she chose the path of yoga. She decided to leave medical school and retire from nursing and put all of her energy into yoga and eventually coaching others in life and business. As life does, continued challenges of empty nest and new relationships brought her to the point of selling everything and starting on the nomadic path. Continuing on this path, Colynn spends a majority of her time in Costa Rica, loving the ocean, the jungle and most importantly the people.

The path of yoga and coaching has brought Colynn’s western knowledge and clinical experience to meet with her eastern yoga philosophy and chakra work to create her very personal and individually tailored offerings. She is filled with joy to offer anatomy lessons, yoga classes, past life regressions and facilitate teacher trainings to support awakening however that looks to each person. She has taught over a hundred Yoga Teacher Trainings and has thousands of hours of Yoga Training to support on this path.


For Colynn, Yoga is a sacred teaching offering us tools that help us to navigate life. The postures (known as asana) remind us to connect to our individual anatomy and bring us back into our bodies, while meditation sparks a conversation with our minds, and the breath nourishes us and helps to connect the mind and the body. While it can all seem so heavy, it doesn’t have to be. Colynn mixes humor, real life and spirituality into a themed, awesome playlisted and fun yoga class that will help you release tension, relax your body (yes, even in flow) and reconnect to you.

During the week at Anamaya, morning classes will be strong, flowing sequences that focus on waking up your body and mind, while being present to your breathing, alignment and experience in each moment. Evening classes will have alternated between candlelit Yin & candlelit Restorative and will mirror not only am classes, but will also be the perfect compliment to your activities throughout the day, be they adventuring, surfing or suntanning. 

Beyond wanting to teach you great yoga classes, Colynn wants to make the entire experience at Anamaya rejuvenating and impactful. Colynn’s classes, workshops & healing work are aimed at increasing your awareness of you as the observer of your body, thoughts and mind to offer you understanding and knowledge of a way to disentangle yourself from the dramas of life. Slowing down is not something that you do, it is a state of being and no matter what you are doing in life, you can find a way to be. All work done during this week, will be centered around reconnecting, slowing down and enjoying life with lush jungles and sandy beaches as the backdrop to immense growth.

This workshop is your invitation to pause, reflect, and engage in practices that nourish your soul, just like putting on an oxygen mask first to ensure you can help others.

Join us for an interactive session where we explore the art of self-love through practical, enjoyable self-care practices. We’ll dive deep into understanding how to identify your unique needs, ensuring that you’re not just surviving, but thriving. Together, we’ll learn to recognize the signs of burnout before they take hold, empowering you with strategies to stay energized and fulfilled.

This workshop isn’t just about discussion; it’s about action. Start the day with an open mind and heart in community. Together we will journey with this incredible plant medicine (aka superfood) while setting intention and expanding your level of transformation and depth in this retreat. Cacao circle has become a centipede of routine and ritual for self care that supports us in remaining centered, connected to our hearts and living intentionally. My own process of working with cacao is interwoven with embodiment, creative expression, and many other healing modalities that have supported me in navigating my own losses, pain, and suffering. Along the way, I have found healing and connection to myself, experienced depth and healing in my family lines, and discovered deeper connection with the elements, land, and ecology that I hadn’t experienced before. I believe you can find the same: cacao has the potential to be a guide and gateway to help each one of us embrace the compass and depth of our heart as a starting point for profound healing and remembrance. Together we will learn the history of cacao, as well as the medically proven benefits and structure of this heart opening (vasodilating) compound, as well as meditate, share and evolve in community.
