Soulful Rejuvenation Retreat – Christy Beck

“I can’t say enough positive words to describe my stay at Anamaya. The place itself is gloriously beautiful. The staff are caring, warm, attentive and kind. The food was delicious, creative, healthy and satisfying. The spa services are remarkable. The two yoga decks are so beautiful. There are many fun day trips to choose from… it doesn’t get much better than this.” – Karen

Managing Body Image
From body dissatisfaction to body dysmorphia, there is often a disconnect on how we view our bodies. In this workshop we will work on uncovering root causes for current body image issues and discovering ways we can reconnect with our bodies, developing an appreciation for all our bodies do for us. This workshop will incorporate aspects of education, journaling, and discussion, as well as practicing yoga postures designed to better connect us with our bodies.
This workshop is 90 minutes and $50 (or all 3 for $120)
Mindfulness & Meditation
We have all heard the terms, “mindfulness” and “meditation,” but what do they mean and how do we integrate them into our daily lives? In this workshop we will discuss the foundations of mindfulness and meditation, how they can be helpful tools for our physical and mental health, and practical ways we can incorporate these techniques into our everyday life. This workshop will conclude with a guided meditation.
This workshop is 90 minutes and $50 (or all 3 for $120)
Introduction to Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique that aligns energy in order to facilitate mental and physical healing. A Reiki practitioner uses their hands hovering above the chakras to release blockages. As a 2nd Degree Reiki Practitioner of the Usui lineage, Christy has utilized Reiki to promote healing from within. In this workshop, we will begin with an overview of Reiki and the chakras, then learn some basic Reiki techniques for self-healing and the healing of others, leaving enough time for some mini Reiki healing sessions.
This workshop is 90 minutes and $50 (or all 3 for $120)

Teaching Philosophy
I am passionate about engaging all students, from brand new to advanced, providing an experience that will leave them feeling challenged enough to step out of their comfort zone and confident enough to want more! I have received feedback from students over the years where my class was the first they had ever taken, and they have shared how I made the class accessible to them, building their confidence to continue with the practice. As a teacher, you never know what level the students are at when they enter your class. That is why my yoga classes are designed for students at all levels – beginners through advanced! One of the many aspects of yoga that I love is that there are so many ways to express each pose. Proper modifications ensure that every student in my class gets what they need from their practice.
I attended an Anamaya yoga retreat as a participant over the summer, and absolutely fell in love with everything about it: the beauty of Costa Rica, the people, the food, Onyx (the Anamaya cat, AKA, the Boss). While there, I began thinking about how amazing it would be to lead a yoga retreat, and how my unique qualities and expertise as a licensed mental health professional, yoga teacher, and Reiki practitioner could create an exceptional experience for participants. I am beyond ecstatic to return to Anamaya and lead you on a week-long journey of self-discovery and healing.
