Our weekly retreats run all year long, so when you book your stay with us the FIRST STEP is to choose the week that works best with your schedule. Every week we have different guest yoga teachers from around the world that come to teach at Anamaya bringing their unique talents and energy. Our retreats run from Saturday to Saturday.

Jacqueline Chiodo ERYT 500 began her yoga practice in 1995, after suffering from a neck injury. Initially, her practice served as a way to relieve physical pain, but within the first year, yoga also became a healthy and effective way to manage stress and emotional well-being. At the age of 22, Jacqueline entered into the corporate world as an investment advisor and relied on her yoga practice as a way to reset her mind after a stressful day at the office. The self-discovery that was made from her time spent on the mat helped her transition from the financial world into a full-time career as a professional yoga instructor and studio owner. Her goal is to help others through yoga, giving back for all that yoga has given to her. Jacqueline graduated with a degree in Religious Studies and minor in Finance, from Rutgers University. She currently co-operates Joyful Yoga and Spa with her family, since 2005, in SW Florida.
Through the past 20 years, Jacqueline has studied with many profound teachers of yoga, meditation and ayurveda and has cultivated a deep respect for all spiritual paths. Her style is based on Raja Yoga, or the 8-limbed path of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. She combines her knowledge of ayurveda and the chakra system with precise alignment, and breath inspired movement. A contemplation or inquiry offered in each of her classes, creates a unifying awareness during the practice, creating an experience of yoga beyond physical exertion. Jacqueline’s teaching style encourages the heart and mind to become intimately involved with the movement. Profound emotional and energetic connections are made through the awareness of each energy center or chakra the practice is designed to awaken. The class themes are inspired by daily life, nature and silence.
According to Krishnamacharya, “yoga should be practiced according to the unique constitution (ayurveda) of the individual and should therefore be adapted to lifestyle, age and stages of life. One system is not appropriate for everyone at all times.” Taking this into consideration, Jacqueline is able to teach a broad range of practitioners, from kids to seniors and everyone in between, her style can be adapted and modified by all ages and life stages.
Jacqueline’s love for nature inspires her teaching style. As Einstein said ” nature is god”. When we are in tune with the natural world, we are in tune with everything. Jacqueline will inspire you to observe and connect with the elements and forces of nature. During our exploration of how the elements connect us through the chakra system you will gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the power within and around you.
THE CHAKRA SYSTEM
Deepen your connection to the chakra system as it specifically relates to creating new experiences and fulfilling your purpose. Our exploration will build upon the experience of the chakra system in each morning asana practice. We will discuss the connection between an idea and the creation of the idea on the material plane, trekking the journey from energy to matter within each chakra. Through lecture, writing and experiential activities you will discover where your ideas and dreams get stuck and what you can do to let the idea flow through to completion. 2.5 hours: $ 145
INTRODUCTION TO AYURVEDA
In this discussion you will understand the connection between the Doshas and the chakras, through the elements, discovering practical ways to create balance in your daily and yearly routine. 2 hours: $95
REFINE AND ALIGN
This workshop will help you refine the anatomical alignment of asanas, we will explore the common misalignments in postures such as downward dog, chataranga, warrior 2, revolved triangle, half moon and twists! 2 hours: $95
