In-Person Intensive at Anamaya: March 28 – April 11, 2026

A Training That Balances Science & Soul

This comprehensive 200-hour program is designed for both aspiring teachers and dedicated practitioners who want to understand yoga beyond the poses. You’ll explore anatomy, philosophy, trauma-informed teaching, and the art of holding space – while transforming the way you move, breathe, and live.

The hybrid structure allows you to complete 100 hours online through interactive Zoom sessions, followed by 100 hours in person at Anamaya Resort. The two-week Costa Rica immersion offers open-air yoga shalas, ocean views, and a saltwater infinity pool – the perfect setting for deep practice and connection.

What You’ll Learn

The curriculum is rooted in both science and soul, with specialized modules including:

  • Anatomy & Biomechanics – Understand how bodies move and how to teach safely
  • Asana & Intelligent Sequencing – Build creative, thoughtful class flows
  • Trauma-Informed Yoga – Learn to hold space with sensitivity and awareness
  • Nervous System Regulation – Explore breath, physiology, and the science of calm
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – Create welcoming spaces for all bodies and backgrounds
  • Philosophy & Ethics – Connect to yoga’s roots and modern application
  • Teaching Methodology – Find your authentic voice and teaching style
  • Professional Development – Build confidence as a teacher and practitioner

You’ll learn from a team of experienced, trauma-informed instructors who bring diverse expertise across movement, somatics, inclusivity, and modern yoga education.

Who This Training is For

This program is perfect for anyone ready to dive deeper into yoga. You don’t need to be flexible, experienced, or certain about teaching—you just need to be curious.

This training is especially suited for:

  • Students who want to understand yoga beyond the poses—including anatomy, philosophy, and the practice’s roots
  • Movers who want to learn safe, intelligent sequencing and deepen their biomechanics knowledge
  • Anyone craving a reset, with time in nature, community connection, and personal reflection
  • Future teachers who want to find their authentic voice and lead with confidence

Graduates leave with a well-rounded foundation in teaching, a deeper sense of self-awareness, and the confidence to lead classes, hold space, and live yoga on and off the mat.

Serenity and Tranquility On the Anamaya Yoga Deck

Meet Your Teachers

Erin Harris – Studio Owner & Community Builder:

Erin is the founder of SoulSpeak Yoga, a community-based studio in Ottawa that has grown to two locations and hosted trainings both locally and abroad. Since completing her first training in 2016, she has accumulated 500+ hours of study and taught everywhere from parks to international retreats.

With a background shaped by a yoga-teacher mother and early exposure to India, Erin has always sought to make yoga feel accessible, modern, and welcoming. At SoulSpeak, she has built a community that values individuality, play, and connection—where students can practice in their own way, without judgment.

In this training, Erin guides students to explore both the tradition and evolution of yoga, bringing a focus on creative sequencing, inclusive teaching, and building confidence as a leader.

Sarah Tourangeau – Lead Teacher & Big Feeler:

Sarah holds training in trauma-informed yoga and yoga for nervous system regulation. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in 2019, with program foci of health equity and mental health, and has since worked in cardiology and pediatric endocrinology. She has a deep passion for health promotion grounded in addressing social determinants of health.

Viewing yoga as a lifelong companion, Sarah guides students to explore their practice in a way that feels right for them. She brings a “challenge by choice” approach, building intentional classes through progressive sequencing that feels safe and welcoming for all.

During the training, Sarah will guide students through topics such as nervous system regulation, trauma-informed yoga, and the science of breath – providing foundations for future teachers to build thoughtful, informed practices.

What Past Students Are Saying

“There are moments in life that carve something new into your soul – SoulSpeak Training was one of them. Nestled between the lush jungle and the endless ocean, each sunrise felt like a new beginning, each breath a prayer. What began as a journey to deepen my practice became a journey home. The women I met there – teachers, sisters, mirrors – reflected back pieces of me I hadn’t yet met. I learned that yoga is not something I do, but something I am. I am forever changed, forever grateful.”
— Georgia Allen

“I walked into that room without a community in Ottawa, and from the first day of training, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. The experience, guidance, and resources offered by the YTT staff were truly top-notch. Now, after 8 months, I look back and realize I didn’t just complete a training, I gained a beautiful community I’m lucky enough to call friends. And while it’s still a little surreal to hear people call me a yoga teacher, I think I’ll always feel like a lifelong student at heart.”
— Jorge Sandoval

“From the moment I stepped into the studio, I knew it was the right place for me. This experience introduced me to a community I might never have known, and now, it’s impossible to imagine my life without these incredible people. Erin creates a welcoming space for everyone and is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion within the yoga industry. This journey has inspired me profoundly, and I’m endlessly grateful.”
— Nadia Mengel
